The Canyons at Dellwood Park in Lockport is Illinois’ number one rated disc golf course. Winter here is so surreal seeing the contrast from this light snow on the landscape, and especially the canyon walls. I love it here. The locals, and Dellwood Disc Golf do a great job keeping the tee pads clear (I was here immediately following a light snow, because it makes the photos pop!).

Leading up to today we had a freezing winter storm that ripped across the U.S. with temperatures well below zero with the extreme windchill. We got a break from that today with tempertures in the upper teens to 20 degrees farenheit.

Because this course is so close to home I come here often to document it. Below are just a few photographs captured on December 26, 2022.

I also came out to Dellwood today because the calendars aka Callahalender’s are available, on location, at the Dellwood Disc Golf pro shop. We teamed up to make this happen and I’m so excited share this with you. It’s a 12-month standard wall calendar and all of Dellwood Disc Golf’s events, and tournaments happening at The Canyons are in there. They are also hosting two separate flex start tournaments on Saturday and Sunday (out with the old/in with the new). It is the perfect way to end, and start the new year. Details about the flex tournaments can be found on their website homepage. Oh, and that cold weather you might be worried about, it’s going to get up to 50 degrees this week! Welcome to Chicagoland.
